It is that time again, statistics and facts time. Left wingers are always going on about the Brady Bill this and the Brady Bill that, how it has helped America become safer, and the rest of the liberal BS. Well, as much as the liberals hate to hear them, I have a few facts to point out regarding the actual effect the bill has had on America… and yes, I have numbers, percentages, and all the other things that sends liberals running for the hills.
Let me start by clarifying something that liberals love to talk about regarding the Brady Bill. The fact is that overall violent crime rates did decrease during the period between 1992 and 1997. Before people start praising the success of the bill, I think it is worth mentioning that the crime rate involving the use of firearms stayed the same! Crime went down as a whole, but the amount of crime caused by firearms stayed exactly the same. So much for the Brady Bill; it has been pointed out that the decrease in crime was due mainly to the economic boom that started after 1995, in other words, the bill had no effect.
The amount of criminals caught with the possesion of firearms has increased since the passing of the bill. This is probably due to the fact that criminals tend to purchase their weapons illegally; despite the assumption by liberals that telling criminals not to purchase firearms will cause them to just not purchase them.
When will people wake up and use common sense?
