September 11, 2001 is a day that Americans, along with other people’s of the world, mourned. Those people who are above the age of kindergartners, have the memory of the airplanes crashing into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City forever etched into their minds. The difference between the world view of an average American before the tragedy of September 11th is completely different from that of an American after September 11th came to pass. Before September 11th, people laughed at the mere thought of arriving 2 hours before the arrival of one’s airplane flight. After September 11th, travellers learned that arriving 2 hours before the appointed flight time of one’s trip may not be time enough. Perhaps 3 hours would be better idea, so one would not have to rush about too much.

We will never forget 9/11/01
In the good old days before September 11th, the thought of taking one’s shoes off in order to clear security sounded like some kind of joke that only a comedian could conjure up. Now, after the days of September 11th, travellers who know what to expect use sandals, specifically flip flops, in order to pass security successfully and efficiently. For those who remember the United States before September 11th, memories of travelling on public transit without worrying about abandoned bags come to mind. Trucks carrying large cargo on a bridge were not objects of suspicion back during the times before September 11th. How quickly the times have changed, but Americans have fared quite well. And those of us who lived through it will never forget that fateful day.
