Waiting periods are just another attempt of the liberal socialists to “desensitize” American’s regarding their rights to own firearms. The fact is that waiting periods do literally nothing than waste time, and on occasion, a new defenseless victim is the result of not receiving a weapon then and there.
To make things even more interesting, a firearm’s average “time-to-crime” is approximately twelve years. This means that a gun is about twelve years old before it is ever used for crime… why? Because criminals do not go into a store and just purchase a firearm, they steal them or purchase them illegally; yet another reason that gun control does not work.
The five-day waiting period has had no impact on robbery or murder involving firearms. The only difference has been an increase in rape and aggravated assault, due to more victims without any means of defense. In both cases, women became more likely to be found in a situation of rape without any defense available to them.
