In case you are not familiar with the process of microstamping, let me explain it briefly to you. Microstamping is the process where a gun imprints a unique serial number on any rounds fired from the gun. The general idea is that a gun and an empty shell can be used by police to link a firearm to a crime scene. Wow, the liberal’s are really reaching out aren’t they?
In my opinion, microstamping is not only stupid, but it is a waste of time and money, not that big government cares. If a criminal will file off the serial number printed on the gun itself, why would they not just file off the little piece of metal that engraves the micro serial number? Even so, the piece of metal that does the engraving is the firing pin itself… easily replaceable with a non-marked pin.
To follow suit, most criminals have a tendency to shoot first, reload later. Unless the government is planning on tracking all guns via GPS (Yeah, I Know), how likely is it that spent rounds will be found in the first place? Tsk, Tsk, Tsk, shame on whoever thought up the idea.
